hmm .. i cant decide between the fujitsu and acer high end labtop cus the acer labtop has better spec but there are many negative reviews about the quality of the labtop like not very durable so how many of the students here are getting fujitsu and how many acer?

stellazio SG

fujitsu keyboard nicer to type. Laughing

Unidentified SG

get the viaos 7k laptop Laughing

Acer 3 years warranty, repairs are FOC.

kopiosatu SG

labtop?

FireIce SG

my acer user frens are visiting the service centres quite often....

Fatum SG

wah ... now got lappie requirement liao eh .... Laughing

I dun like fujitsu lappies precisely because of the keyboard ... overly sensitive ... you want a bit of resistance to the keys, like a desktop keyboard ... but that's just me ....

ndmmxiaomayi SG

Me also... since it's FOC, just abuse.

DriftingGuy SG

Fujitsu should be lighter especially the S series, its parts also higher quality.

Fatum SG

fujitsu lappies seem to have heating dissipation problems ... they get really really hot ...

FireIce SG

yah, fujitsu notebooks have this heat problem
but not as bad as hp compaq....
i prop my notebook up with a small bead (from my bracelet!)

no wonder fujitsu lappy are so attractive Laughing

ndmmxiaomayi SG

Not exactly. One of the distributors here for Fujitsu are using lousy parts. Quite a few batches of the S series are affected and their laptops are not only hot, screen spoil, CD/DVD drives spoil, and don't know what things are spoilt as well.

DriftingGuy SG

Hmmm what is the supplier company ar? Feel like checking to see if mine comes from there Neutral Neutral

FireIce SG

im fondling one now.......

Fatum SG

well ... whatever you get, I would suggest not spending too much money on your lappie lah ....

yeah, it's cool to carry a laptop around, to take notes in class etc ... but it doesn't work out that way ... taking notes using lappies is a chore, especially if the class is diagram intensive ... plus, it is distracting for other people ...

if you're into engineering or programming, there are school facilities ....

it's stupid to make lappies mandatory for students methinks ... especially when not everyone can afford one ...

sides ... it'll get obsolete in a few years anyways ...

my bro says that its complusary for all students to own a laptop... i wonder whether it is a must or not Rolling Eyes

but seriously la.. the first few weeks u bring your laptop.. den until a certain time u wont bring it liao why?

cos:
1.heavy sia, shoulder sour ( even its 2.+ kg but then u'll still feel the difference)
2. scared the chances of lappy spoilt is high cos out door ba.. u will nv know what happy(etc... drop laptop, water spill)
3. Play games with Desktop feels better than playing using a laptop.

FireIce SG

a laptop is considered "outdated" by the 6th month or so
get one with good specs tt is sufficient for ur usage and can last u longer....

SexyChin SG

Labtops are compulsary for students in SP? Who the f said that?

snop_coolz SG

donno for sp..but np..yes..its stated and its compulsory except for some course Laughing Wink Wink

ts: i would buy the acer one..who cares about durability when we already had 3 yrs of warranty..more over..i donno for sp..but the laptop acer offered has 40gb more then the other brands..even after upgrade..has a better graphic card..and most of all...cheapest
