Motherboard is what model? Brand?

Honestly, what are you using for? looking Vista or XP platform? with 1.6k i can build a pretty powerful CPU with high storage. Your storage of 160gb is....nothing.

i can't really say its a yes or no because the parts u provided cannot build a desktop computer.

you didn't mention the speed of the processor, the OS installed, whether got CD anot, monitor have anot, what kind of graphics card(dedicated or shared), what type of hard disk it is, whether got give keyboard and mouse, whether got warrenty, whether got extra card drives or not just to name a few.

My friend say get a good powersupply because if not good, will spoil easily, that's one, and also i might face problems like comp won't boot or comp cannot on..

actually the casing is the most important part.
getting a $99 is not gonna make ur computer more powerful. u need to get the most expensive ones. trust me on that.

powersupply anyhow la, who really cares.

and 1600 for that kind of specs is quite lousy la actually.

1. Intel Core 2 - which one you referring to?
2. DDR2 RAM - more details please. At $167, it's one of the most expensive. And expensive doesn't mean good. If your motherboard can't support it, there's no point in getting this piece of RAM.
3. LG DVD Combo - I assume that it's CD-RW + DVD Combo. If yes, I think you are being tok by retailers.
4. Graphics card - integrated or external? And all the details please. Can't provide details, please provide a link.
5. HDD - SATA or IDE?
6. Motherboard details please.
7. Installation - Mac, Linux, Windows?

Other stuffs you might need

Internet hardware - modem or router. If you already have either of this, ignore this part.

Network card - if it's not integrated with the motherboard, you will need to get an external network card or use your previous computer's network card.

Sound card - again, if it's not integrated, you will need an external sound card. That's only if you want to listen to music. Otherwise, this is totally optional. You will also need speakers...

I think what the threadstarter mean was the intel P965 chipset.But there us alot of mother board with P965 chipset, so must tell us whch one.And which core 2 duo processor you are using?

Harddisk: Better get the 320GB Seagate 7200.10 one since you only need to pay a little bit more only
RAM:looks ok
DVD:looks ok also
Graphics: You are being chopped.this is way overpriced for a 7600Gt.7600Gt is quite obsolete now.For 281, top up about 20 bucks more and you can get the MSI X1950 PRO, which is a way better card than the 7600Gt
Powersupply: for the price you paying, i presume you are getting those 700W-800W coolermaster real poer.This is a overkill for your computer.Get the HEC Acepower 480W, which is good and more than sufficient enough to power your computer.The price is also cheaper at about 160+

for the price you are paying, you could get the P965 chipset not the 946 chipset, which basically cripples your core 2 processor since the Max FSB is only 800MHz instead of the standard 1066mMHz that the core 2 is supposed to run at

You can't boot to an external hard disk. Windows doesn't support this. If you meant SATAII HDD, yes. But don't add the external in front, because it's not supported anywhere.

Windows XP has 2 editions - Home or Pro?

Intel 946 Motherboard? I doubt it. According to Intel, it's an Express Chipset.
