ndmmxiaomayi SG I can try, but no guarantee what will go wrong. Download HijackThis and save it to somewhere convenient. Don't run it directly via the browser. Save a log and post back.
ndmmxiaomayi SG No idea about this. But most likely not, since whether or not in Safe Mode these programs will work.
FBI SG hmm it's hard to delete this i know.. it's kinda strange,, it starts duplicating itself in "my pictures" and "my music" folders. haha anyway i get rid of that sh!t oh ya i still rmb last time everytime i tried to go command promt, it restarts and server website on ie, it restarts also.. hmm now i have windows live and got it qurantine.. so i jus manually delete it
ndmmxiaomayi SG alex, can you translate the email message? It's either Bahasa Melayu or Bahasa Indonesia. But looking at the domains, it seems to come from Indonesia.
ndmmxiaomayi SG Sort of true. It actually uses a folder icon to mislead people into thinking that it's not a virus. But the folder has weird names, like my pictures.exe, my music.exe instead of just My Pictures or My Music. The virus will restart the PC if you try to start anything to stop it. It's very hard to stop.
FBI SG forgot to mention.. when i tried product recovery, the damm virus still down there!? haha only when i used windows live 1 care and got it fixed
ndmmxiaomayi SG They disabled all known ways of deleting files... If by luck command prompt can run, I can still delete it. Or I'm going to try one of Symantec's files to restore the registry, then edit the registry to at least restore back some functionality of the PC and delete the files.
ndmmxiaomayi SG You mean system restore or you use the recovery CD? If you mean system restore, then the date you restored back was infected as well. Anyway, it's quite common for viruses to infect the system restore as well, so trying that will be useless.
alexkusu SG orh..nothing important just asking people to stop smuggling, corruption, prostitution, abortion, burning of trees and all that.
ndmmxiaomayi SG Well, why not? In Windows, there exists 2 command prompts. One is for Win 9x, one is for NT and above. I could try the command prompt for Win9x, and if luck is with me, I can do whatever I want. Edit: Only if you are using XP.
