DNS error

ok, i got a new pc, and i used my old adapter on the new pc

installed the adapter too, and the router is secured to my adapter by mac address

problem is, when i started using IE, it keep giving me this DNS error thing

i dont rem having to configure anything on my old pc, so is there anything i missing out?

Did you by any chance lock yourself out? Try and see if you can log in to your router. If you can't, it means you lock yourself out. Reset it and reconfigure, making sure that you don't lock yourself out again.

Uninstall the adapter and router drivers. Shut down the PC, unplug the adapter and router.

Then restart your PC, install the router and adapter drivers first. Then shut down PC again and plug them back in.

err, router driver is in my sis pc

so all i have to do is to install the adapter

the connection is working fine, as in can see the adapter linking up, but when open IE, keep displaying this page

i am not sure how to reset and reconfigure

coz on my old pc, i just need to plug, install and play then its ready to go

Don't think you need to reinstall your router's drivers... probably your adapter.

To reset router, usually just press the reset button on the router or if it's not present, press the power button for X seconds. Note that it's USUALLY. Need to check your router's manual for resetting it and reconfiguring it. Reconfiguring would need you to log in to the router, usually by typing in 192.168.1.1 in your browser.

May need to try this out if nothing works.

You can also try downloading Winsock XP Fix. Only use this if you cannot access the Net - that is you get a page cannot be displayed error for any websites you visit.

i assume your adapter is wireless...

reset your router. 80% of the time works perfectly fine.

usually u need a pen and poke the reset button.. go look at your router carefully there sure to manual and find the reset button.

another method of resetting is log into router and find the page which reset your router to factory default settings

hmm, so if i reset my router, do i have to reconfigure everything again, including the security part?
