Hi guys. Can someone tell me why this balloon keep appearing on my screen?

No, it just won't connect to the Net.

Either someone is using a static IP address and you are using that IP address as well, or you are using static IP address and it is the same as another PC.

Set the router/modem to assign the IP address via DHCP, instead of manually assigning one.

But hor.... I have been using the cable for the last two months without problem leh ... so could someone have change the IP address for the pc? err ... can the IP address be change ? and if can, how ha?

IP address can be changed. It differs from model to model of routers/modems.

Most of the time, typing 192.168.1.1 to access the modem and change the settings over there.

It's likely that someone changed the IP address, or your modem has assigned 2 identical IP addresses to different machines.

go to sart>run>input cmd
in the command prompt type in: ipconfig

it will look something like this:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.101
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1

.
by looking at the default gateway, that is your router configuration page ip.
mine's 192.168.1.1

so to access to your router configration page,
go to start>run>input: http://192.168.1.1

Go to Start > Run and type in cmd

Type in ipconfig

Look at your default gateway. Type in that address.
