babymac13 SG I'm interested in taking the papers for MCSE as a private candidate, and hope to gather more information before registering for them. 1) Where can I go to register as a private student? 2) Any experience to share? 3) What tactics recommended such as which paper should I take first? Links: http://www.knowledgealive.com/pdf/MCSE.pdf
FireIce SG just need to register for a test date at www.prometric.com can self-study but better if u have some hands-on experience like setting up servers and PCs, troubleshooting, networking.... google for the "ten-year series"
thoreldan SG all info can be found here http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/mcse/windows2003/ most people would take the client exam first (70-270) next would be 70-290 / 291 / 293 / 294 followed by others + whatever elective you have chosen i would encourge you to take up messenging elective...because you learn one more product. just to take note...ex2007 and win2007 server is coming out soon
babymac13 SG Thanks for all the replies (FI and thoreldan). Not really, I do not have any experience in managing or using MS 2003 server, which I felt it's hard for me to land in a IT job.
thoreldan SG it's good if you can get the reference book (windows 2003 - 120 days evaluation included)and try to setup a home lab ...it will help you appreciate mcse better. from my own experience...people can get certified without any hands on at all. All you need to do is to find the "10 years series" FI mentioned and viola! but you'd become a paper MCSE..
babymac13 SG I only acquire a PC by myself at home, will that be enough to setup a home lab. What's viola? Yeah... one of the 10 years series is braindumps
thoreldan SG take a look at these forums... http://www.mcmcse.com/forums/ http://www.techexams.net/forums/ should have most answers you need.
babymac13 SG Some useful information about MS 2003 Server http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/library/79d93e46-ecab-4165-8001-7adc3c9f804e1033.mspx?mfr=true
