EXPL EXECOD.A virus

Need all the help I can get.

Had a PC infected with EXPL EXECOD.A virus as detected by PCcillin 2007.
Problem is as soon as it has been detected...the programs are all non-working and the only option is to reboot.

after reboot..."error loading operating system" msg comes out during loading.
cannot even go into safe mode(Windows 2000)

Anyone knows how I can recover the system?

Did you patch up your Windows? This is a zero-day exploit.

Once tio... gone case. Reformat is on the way. You can't boot up to Windows.

yup.All published patches for Windows 2000 installed.
