Hi,

I just bought a 2nd hand desktop. but after i bring it back home about 1 week, i realise it faulty.

Fault:

It a P4 pc, i install WinXP. When I on my PC, it totally fine, after 5 mins, the monitor screen just black out...... it always like this...

Just wonder is the monitor problem or issit the Graphic card problem? then CPU is still running...... so i duno if it wat problem?

Dell advertised yesterday on the papers for a project end sale. Their desktops were going for $499, laptops were going for $200 more. Laughing

It's really in the adverts of yesterday's papers, home section. But the equipment they are offering abit dated lar. Late PIIIs and early P4s. Laughing

yes, i saw the Ad on the papers. but i Oready bought this PC.

Now i duno what is the real problem......... and find solutions.

Is the monitor power still on when everything blackout?

If yes, it's most likely your graphic card. If there's no more power to the monitor, you probably have to change monitor...

Yes, my monitor and CPU is on with power. just that it black out after 5 to 10 mins...... but me buy from 2nd hand shop.... then duno how to open the CPU to change the graphic card.

I think it went into suspend mode....just shake shake ur mouse or press any key the screen will on back....

u let the cpu run and went to toilet rite?

Black out 5 to 10 minutes later... sounds like a blank screen saver or system went on standby mode.

Move the move or press the spacebar or Enter key. It should come back.
