It helps if you can post your computer specs or models or
manufacturer name so we can giv u the direct answer.
if:
1) your computer OEM (got brand 1) you can call tech support for
answer. otherwise you can go to the computer manufacturer's
websitesite and check the model number for the ram type/ spedd
used. initial bootup stage the ram type can be found in the bios
settings. if your warranty expired and u r confident enough open
the PC case and look at the labels of the ram modules installed.
take note of the part number (SKU) and check it over at the ram
manufacturer's website.
2) your computer build by someone else e.g at sim lim you can call
them or check wif them.
3) you DIY u should know better.
if you are using a desktop computer most probably your ram is
anywhere between SDram (older P3 PC), DDR (P4 or AMD), DDR2 (newer
P4s and AMD with duo/dual core processors).
if you are using server boards or a server computer most probably
your ram are registered and/ or with ECC.
if you happened to be using a nnotebook or a mini-ATX motherboard
most probably the standards with be similar to the desktop computer
but the form factor different, smaller called soDimm.
