"Designed to be user-friendly, the new packaging is a small, hard, plastic container thats designed to protect the software inside for life-long use. It provides a convenient and attractive place for you to permanently store both discs and documentation.

The new design will provide the strength, dimensional stability and impact resistance required when packaging software today. Our plan is to extend this packaging style to other Microsoft products after the launch of Windows Vista and 2007 Office system."

Looks good, but I'm still not convinced to get any of them, until I upgrade the PC.

If we wait a while, there may be an upgrade version, which requires a previous original Windows version. Typically the upgrade version will be much cheaper, perhaps around $150-$200.

This model worked for MS when they had WinXP, I presume it'll be applied on Vista as well.
