You mean the problem happens when both the mouse and the PC is
brand new?
Have you tried installing the driver given to you with the mouse,
instead of the driver XP installed by default?
And is the surface under your mouse suitable for it?? I have a fren
who got a optical mouse that can only use on dark surface, cannot
use on white color surface.
Try using your mouse on different things, matt/gloss surface,
dark/white surface.
