nightzip SG 100,000 pre-release Vistas up for grabs Benevolent Vole By INQUIRER newsdesk: Tuesday 29 August 2006, 11:21 MICROSOFT is letting 100,000 guinea pigs download flaky versions of its upcoming Vista suite of cobbled-together programs. The code includes what we used to call an operating system and has loads of stuff on top, designed primarily to leverage Microsoft's monopoly position. You can grab yours here. http://download.windowsvista.com/preview/prerc1/en/download.html
ndmmxiaomayi SG *Me wonders if this is some kind of new virus* I've never seen Microsoft integrate Java into their website before.
nightzip SG yah, its genuine free copy...cuz next time when they launch, you will have to buy liao...like $300+ a genuine copy...but now its free... so, alot of people or IT pple can grab one first, and burn copies! But then, if you install and use, it will suck a lot of memory and resources...
nightzip SG http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/preview/start.mspx above is a very good url to introduce and tell you how to use Vista and its features!
chanff8 SG The pricing for Vista has already leaked in a Canada website http://news.com.com/Microsoft+Canada+leaks+Vista+pricing/2100-1016_3-6110267.html?tag=cd.top Vista Home Basic Edition is around S$367.90. Pricing may vary upon actual release. If you're upgrading from XP, its about S$183.30.
stellazio SG if the supposedly final version of xp still have so many bugs, i won't go anywhere near the beta version..
chanff8 SG Yes you can, but only if you use their download manager...Microsoft has partnered with Akamai Technologies to provide a Download Manager to help you get the ISO file for Windows Vista pre-RC1. This Akamai Download Manager lets you pause, resume, and stop the download of the file. It will also automatically restart the download if the process is temporarily interrupted. Due to the size of the download we strongly recommend you use the Akamai Download Manager.
