How do i find lost CD-KEYS in my com???

I rmbed i had my nero 7 startsmart cd key but i lost it. the program is still in my com but i want to format it. anyone knows how i can locate the cd key in my com????? thanks

If the CD comes with the CD drive when you bought it, the CD keys are automatically recorded in the CD itself. When you run the installation, the CD key will be there.

I got the nero disk free when i bought my cd room drive. it came inside the box. but i lost that box and i only have the cd key.

the cd key is listed on the cupboard covering used to place the disk inside.

how do i find the key from my com?

okay here's how it goes.

1.want to format com but i want my nero program back with my new windows.
2.need cdkey for nero but i only have the cd but no cd key
3. reason because i have misplaced the cover of the cd which contains the cd key label at the back
4.hence, i need to find a way to find the cd key in the computer before i format my com.

You can try the link provided by Ito. Since you are going to reformat, it doesn’t matter if it has spywares or not.

no, when you format, i believe your cd key information will be permanently lost.

however, for companies with good support, the best way to recover your cd-key would be to login into the company website for any cdkey recovery solution. some sites like microsoft.com do provide cdkey recovery support in case of situations like yours. i'm unsure about nero, though.

of course, this can only work if you have registered with nero before during your installation process. otherwise, there's no other way than to look for your cd cover again. Surprised

according to this post, it is possible to retrieve your cd-key information via the nero website, provided you are a registered user. go ahead, give it a try.

btw, ito's solution may work, and is less troublesome, so i suggest you try that first. do look out for ad/spyware however. some malicious ones may tend to stick around in your com even after formatting.
