kopiosatu SG i formatted and re-installed win XP but when i try to install activesync for my PDA, it says it needs the latest Service Pack. i managed to find a downloadable SP but it still says my registration is invalid. is there a work round for this?
ditzy SG If you use torrents, you can find the standalone XP cumulative update patch executable up to the latest month of august at very popular torrent sites. Its the easiest way to update pirated copies of xp. Small file, only 100mb++ or so.
kopiosatu SG i found a exe patch for SP1. is that considered as a standalone patch? but that bugger refuses to update~!!! maybe i should install it offline
ditzy SG Its 2 different things, the executable I mentioned is compiled into an installer by pirated people using pirated xp.
Xcert SG if U want Service Pack 2...this is the microsoft link http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=049C9DBE-3B8E-4F30-8245-9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en download and install this...but I suggest U turn off the automatic updates because the first thing it will update is the validation thingy...irritating... I havent tried the pirated patch sites so I cant comment on how safe they are...
ndmmxiaomayi SG I try liao... They say automatic updates not turned on cannot continue. Have to turn it back on. The pirated patch, like Windows, must use IE. Die die must also use IE. They use ActiveX to install the pirated updates.

I always use this link one...it is supposed to be Windows XP Service Pack 2 Network Installation Package for IT Professionals and Developers...filename that U download is WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe ....dont go to windows update and use that one to download... if not U turn on ur automatic update...download and install the patch...then turn off the automatic update...
ndmmxiaomayi SG Yes... tried liao... but doesn't work on my system. Automatic update must be ON. Edit: Can already. I bypass using Firefox. Use IE got all kinds of checks.
