OVERPRODUCTION of LCD flat panels and fierce competition from the
manufacturers is likely to lead to prices falling by nearly a third
next year, a Reuters report said.
LG and Sharp made the announcement at a consumer electronics show
in Germany, but such remarks are unlikely to make people dip into
their wallets in the run up to Yuletide, we'd expect.
LCD TV prices fell by a third last year, according to an LG
executive. The problem is fierce competition matched by continual
moves to create more efficient next generation LCD processes.
