Anyway you can use java class to surf as a guard, even though also hackable, but harder.

Otherwise, you create a database in your ftp folder, using asp or php and link to the database using dbms and query password inside it..

We put password when we only want close friends to view.

I just don't understand why you know there will be a restriction but still write?

For example, today you not happy with a friend, you know he will drop a tag in your blog today therefore you can't write about him.

People are taking the advantage of blog to voice out politics unhappniess, racist issue and many other non-diary related questions.

From tradition diary is personal, one die hard to secure it. Now you are writing to others? I don't care is it web diary or blog, it all serves the same purpose.

Blog nowadays become someone people worship, people actually expressing their views/thoughts at blog instead of writing fact about themselve. Lol. This service should terminate or more and more insolent politician will emerged.

An alternative will be to switch to the other blogging softwares that help you maintain private entries.

Livejournal: They've got a setting for private entries whereby only the user is able to view them.

Wordpress based: They've got a password function that you could use with selected entries of your choice.
