1) Winzip has never been free, although they keep prompting you
that your evaluation period is over. Since you are registered user,
means that it has been paid. If you upgrade, you have to pay, as
with all software upgrades.
2) You can use Winzip for a period of 30 days without that nagging
screen. After 30 days, you still can use it, but it will keep
prompting you to buy.
