considered as the biggest thing on the goggle box since color TV
in the 70s. HDTV offers image quality of up to 4 times sharper and
comes with surround sound, like DVDs.
to watch television programs in HD. one will need a widescreen TV
(16 : 9 aspect ratio), either plasma or LCD wich are HD-ready that
can support a resolution of at least 1080i, the same resolution
local broadcasters here delivering their programs in.
one will also need a set-up box from the broadcaster as well.
as for the resolution, 1080i that means the TV can show 1080 lines
on screen, as compare to the current 576 or 625 lines of normal
TVs. the 'i' refers to interlaced. meaning the 1080 lines are
alternated. if all lines are shown at the same time, the improved
resolution is known as 1080p, 'p' for progressive.
