Can anyone help to explain why my ” Window Security Center ” keep prompting me my virus protection is out of date when I only install the new Trend PC- Cillin about 2 months back? Previously I was using Norton

You can disable it from Start>Run>"services.msc"
It is a useless services though. Laughing

Thanks.. got it done... since I am here, can I ask, is there anyway of deleting the pre-install MSN ?

Out-of-date can mean the definitions are not updated or it expired. Please update your antivirus or turn off this service.

It is windows messenger. Yar,
1. Start>Run>"control">add or remove programs>Add/Remove Windows Components>Uncheck Windows Messenger and click Next
2. Start>Run>"gpedit.msc">Local Computer Policy>Computer Configuration>Adminstrative Template>Windows Components>Windows Messenger>Enable both:
i) Do not allow Windows Messenger to be run
ii) Do not automatically start Windows Messenger initially

Thanks for the help but I cannot run "gpedit.msc"... I think I'll just let it pass...

If you are using Windows XP Home, you can't run gpedit.msc
