Lately whenever I try to turn off my laptop, it will not straight away go to 'Windows Shutting Down'......

a window will pop up saying 'End Program rundll32.exe..... Ending program, please wait' etc then after the computer finish what it is doing, I click 'End', then the laptop will shut down.

Many times I get this. Only when I'm lucky, then the computer will go straight away to 'Windows Shutting Down' deng deng deng deng...

Why like that?!??!!! Anything wrong?

Nothing wrong lar. Some apps require that some additional dlls that remain running even after you end it. Laughing For me, I just tweak that progress bar to progress faster, so it'll end asap.

Some of your dll not loaded completely therefore rundll is still running.

Run registry checker should be able to solve the problem Wink

By right, rundll32 shouldn’t take too long to load if you have used the computer for hours. If you have used for a short time, try waiting for a few minutes for everything to completely before shutting down.

Before you shut down, close any programs running. Go watch TV until commercial start or something else, then shut down. By then, system would have stabilize, you can shut down safely after that.

You can just press the off button. Nothing is important and can be unsaved anyway, unless something related to your work.

Make such your hard disk activity LED is not blinking, hold your off button for 6 secs and *BOMB*, err i mean off...
