Hello all,

A long while since i have posted. Anyway back to topic:

My computer has this problem of recurring error : Low memory space , please delete some files to create more space for drive C.

Then after i have deleted various files to create space like around 500+ mb of space, the pop up of the clear files balloon starts again which says my comp have insufficient space for saving stuffs.

I used norton anti virus and tried to scan my comp, but they said not enough space to quarantine virus, thus the scanning was aborted.

My comp also run significantly slower and lags more often when im surfing the net. Not sure whether is this a virus, or just a comp prob.

hanor…not enough space lor…technically…you need about 3gb of space left in your hard disk for the comp to work stable…

1) Use disk cleanup. (Start, Accessories, System Tools)

2) Select C drive. Check these boxes:
a) Downloaded Program Files
b) Temporary Internet Files
c) Microsoft Error Temporary Reporting Files
d) Recycle Bin
e) Temporary Files
f) Web Client/Temporary Publisher Files
g) Temporary Offline Files
h) Compressed Old Files

3) Next, if you have a lot of anime, please burn them to a CD or DVD. They take up a lot of space.

4) Burn all your music to CD or DVD. It will give you significant space.

5) After clearing all these, try installing anti-spywares from here If there is not enough space, trying using online scans. http://www.ewido.net/en/onlinescan/http://www.ewido.net/en/onlinescan/
Note: Ewido only supports IE.

i suggest…get a external hard-disk…nowadays is getting cheaper and larger disk space…quite worth it…

Umm.. But external hard-disk can only serve as a data storage right?

I mean can you like install sth in a external hd thats connected via USB and run it?

Not too sure for this, but I've tried installing simple application in a thumbdrive, and run the application there. It works perfectly fine as long as the thumbdrive remains plugged in.

Yar this i think i tried before. But since its a external hard disk, i thought it will be good if i can install things like Doom 3 in it and run it. Smile

I don't think it's impossible, but will be slow. External hard disk rpm isn't as fast as those connected directly to the motherboard.

Oh i see. How about the Mac server. I saw all the Mac servers in my school have a Apple-made external hd connected using Firewire. Will firewire help in terms of speed?

It will be faster as Firewire is faster than USB. But the speed difference won't be noticable though, unless you are transferring files from computer to the hard disk and vice versa.

Yea firewire is real fast. I do video editing on Final Cut using external harddisks and there isn't much slowdown in speed when compared to editing with files on the internal harddisks
