Singnet connection problem

Hi guys, got a question about singnet.

I'm currently using singnet's 512kbps ADSL. My computers are connected to via a router and the router is connected to a adsl modem. The connection is a keep alive connection, ie the router does not disconnect the internet.

The problem I'm facing is that, whenever I keep my computer on for more than 24 hours, when I next reboot, the router is unable to reconnect to the internet. It does not help to reboot my computer again, click the connect button from the router config page. The only way is to hard reset my router and modem.

Anyone knows why this is happening and how I can mitigate this problem? Any help appreciated.

What OS? What Brand/Model Router and Modem? Router DHCP server or not?

I suspect it is because of the router hardware problem. I am facing the same problem before. the quality of the router hardware is not that good, when it is running for some long time, and too hot, the program inside just hung or does not working fine. after you power down and up again, it goes back to normal. It is really a headace, better change a new router.

If it is router problem and heat; I place router on a metal rack to dissipate the heat...

Windows XP Os for all the computers. Router is Linksys WRT54G and modem is ADSL2MUE. Router set to use DHCP server.

I see. When I reset the router and modem, I did not wait for it to cool down, I merely unplug and plug in the power adapter, and it works... until I have to do that again.
