KillerB33 SG The 17 inch Macbook Pro is now out. Those of you who bought the 15 inch ones are surely regretting it now...haha It has: -2.16GHz Core Duo -One FireWire 400/800 each -3 USB 2.0 ports -8x SuperDrive DL The rest are all the same
Båseline SG One Mountain still got another Mountain high.... Laptops or other gadgets are always improving in terms of functions, aesthetics blah blah n more blahs. The 15" will appeal to ppl who like a balance of size and power.... great for the well travelled. 17" will appeal more to the pros who welcome the large screen, power and portability (too) and in this model.. the FW800 (it's back).
KillerB33 SG yeah firewire 800...wah should be faster than USB 2.0 right? Darn, i think i wait till next year...sekali 20 inch one come out
Båseline SG FW is faster than USB 2.0...so FW800 is of cos much faster than FW400. wah lans... u know how wide the 17" is already? Machiam like carrying a portfolio case if u carry 20" ard.
Parka SG Hate to say this but with the same price, you can almost get 2.5 Dell laptops with the same specs
Båseline SG The chips are ok tho... it's the core apps that are 'missing'. Many of them still runs on Rosetta where speed are compromised . Apps that are Universal will run fast with the Dual Core chips in it. Clearly, companies like Adobe adopted a wait n see approach when the first MacPro rolled out. The buzz is there... the pros will rejoice and Adobe announced PS and it's family of apps will turn Universal in time to come.
Båseline SG The OS is one issue.. there are other elements which made MacPro cost more than a PC laptop. The points are debatable but end of the day, there's choices.
