I have tried some of the laptops, the quality is there. No doubt it is a China brand name now. Brand name aside, it's the quality the counts. If you can't trust China-made products, switch to Taiwan-made products. They too, have received high marks from people who have used it. Not only that, they are cheaper and specs are better.

The quality may not be there, just that luck is omnipresent. Laughing

Asus Laptop? Anyone have experiance? What I need is really simple operations like email internet & excel.

Hmm.... Saw the Dell offering also. Seems good offer.

Hocklez SG

lol, that is sort of an upgrade version of mine model... Very Happy

Basically all laptops can do that. Only a difference in prices. Laughing

surfer188 SG

True lei most can do.

After I re-search... I found I need some specs ... 2.0Ghz processor, 2Gb ram, DVD burner, wireless lan & long lasting battery 4~5hrs at least.

What is those saying 5cell battery 6cell battery & 9 cell battery meaning? How to relate to time of usage?

ditzy SG

Asus builds mil-spec laptops as well, so you can be sure your laptop can survive those knocks and drops like you do with your samsung phone. Laughing

Durabooks are the best. YOu can immerse the thing in a bathtub of water and it wont corrode!

You can also jump ontop of it and the lcd screen will still be intact. Truly a wonder indeed....

ditzy SG

And why the hell do we want to do things like these to our laptops? Laughing

shade343 SG

Well, you never know... Laughing

They last longer, provided you do normal stuffs like word processing. Do other things like Photoshop, video editing, you will see 9-cell battery lasting shorter or just as long as 6-cell ones.

You want those get an IBM. My heart will stop beating if I ever do these.
