aRcTiC_sTaR SG I thought so too... But without an authentic CD Key, I won't be able to install certain softwares from Microsoft that requires verification right?
aRcTiC_sTaR SG What are the implications of using a non-original key? As in are there updates or softwares that I can’t download from Microsoft.com?
ndmmxiaomayi SG Nope. Every CD has a particular key that can be used to install the OS. If you enter the wrong key, you can't continue with the process but to abort it.
ndmmxiaomayi SG Yes, the implications are like what you said. However, there are more things other than not being able to update. For example, pirated softwares may have errorenous code in it. It may cause system to be unstable and may well damage your motherboard.
aRcTiC_sTaR SG I just remembered that I had an original CD Key. Oh well I've reformatted using my authentic XP Home already, so nvm.
