What DVD wirters you using now?

Seriously, i thought of getting a new DVD writer now as writers are getting cheaper with the high speculation of BluRay technology.
What do u guys think?

Any suggestion what brands of writers is more reliable?

Last question is why is PLEXTOR writers are much more higher in price compare other brands in the market?

Pls share wat brands of writers you are using and hopefull some feedbacks too.

Can't be bothered to buy discs.

Both technologies are too expensive if they are to roll out now. Won't consider getting it until prices drop to a reasonable range.

Meanwhile, I continue using my thumbdrive and save enough money to buy an external HDD.

Plextor brand is famous for it external writer and generally external writer is expensive. Unless you have a very good reason for needing a external writer, else dun even bother getting one.

Also don't get branded writer such as Pioneer, Sony etc becos it got very high copyright protection. Go for those cheap and good taiwan brand such as Lite-On. Using the same Jap Technology but at a much cheaper price.

Blu-Ray is not necessary unless you burn alot and use frequently.

Personally used Lite-On and Sony DVD write b4, not much diff except that i can't burn movies from DVD due to the copyright protection.

Now, DVD writers are already going below $100, it is already the most bottom price you can get before they are going to phrase out in the future.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Hopefully i can a reliable DVD writer this sat. Btw, wat about Samsung writers? Reliable?

hmmm not sure but i do highly recommend asus and lite-on they are really cheap, good and reliable. some ppl may have bad impression abt taiwanese brand, but there no need to worry as their design are based on japanese brand technology and some even perform better then their jap counterpart in benchmarking.
