i think essay better to do demand supply, market failure and one macro-you are safer that way-because its easier to hit the mark on micro

Demand and supply is the worst qn to ever do... even our teacher warn us to skip it. Very risky and easy to go completely out of point

Like chemistry, different people have different forte.

If they throw you the markets and it is a straightforward question, it is worth a read. Foreign policy is harder to justify and evaluate compared to micro concepts. Who knows if your examiner isnt a staunch anti-trade guy?

In any case, the key to scoring for econs is always to provide balanced arguments. Once youve hit there, it is a likely L2 and then a little bit extra will push you to L3.

Yup true, i think it is just that our school teachers do not want us to take the risk.
anyway all the best for math paper 2, honestly speaking i hope that it is not too easy, so that the bell curve will not be too high…

Concerning the phenol question, I'm pretty sure either Cl2(aq) or Cl2/CCl4 will be accepted. They didn't specify mono/trisub, as zenthyl mentioned. People are weirded out because there're two answers, but many chemistry reactions can have different reagents and conditions- reduction of carbonyls for example.

As for the colours of halide displacement, I think it may be 2m for 4 colours + equation, 2m for data + explanation/feasibility. I doubt they'd give 3m for colours only when they requested explanation and data haha. If they're lenient you may get 1m for writing 1 correct colour.

To those of you who have tried the 2016 Singapore JC Prelim Paper 1s, can you share with the other students here (to help them with their last min revision), which Singapore JCs have the toughest 2016 Prelim Paper 1s? Rank the Top 3 most difficult papers, eg. 1st RJC, 2nd HCJC, 3rd VJC. You can include IP schools with A level Prelim papers eg. DHS.

An interesting observation : A neighborhood JC student of mine, last week tried out first the RJC and then the VJC 2016 Prelim papers. I asked him, how's the VJC 2016 P1 compared to the RJC 2016 P1?

He replied, "VJC 2016 P1 is waaaaaaaaay easier."

Next I asked, then how's the how's the VJC 2016 P1 compared to ur own (neighborhood JC's) Prelim 2016 P1?

He replied, "VJC 2016 P1 is waaaaaaaaay tougher."

Good recommendation. The NYJC P1 is comparably delightful with the RJC P1. Here's hoping this Fri's P1 will be somewhere in between the RJC and NYJC papers.

I'll leave it to you to post the answers to Paper 1.

A couple of time-consuming MCQs, and several ridiculously easy MCQs. Overall, a standard paper. Then again, from P2 and P3, students don’t seem to agree with my assessment. So I’ll leave it to you guys to decide if this was a tough or easy Paper 1. I’ll leave it to TheFire321 to post the answers.
