Hi. I have a question to ask, but I cannot find an appropriate thread to ask. So I create this thread. Might as well, so next time if other people have any question of the same subject, can also ask here.

Q: How to do First Shift Theorem?

I tried to understand what is written in my lecture notes.

I tried to understand the working for one of the example questions.

But I do not understand anything...

It would be good if someone can explain to me how to do first shift theorem.

Hello.

Here's a video on the First Shift Theorem I found. The video shows you how to apply Laplace Transform with the theorem (i.e. going forward).

The example you provided requires you to apply Inverse Laplace Transform (i.e. going backwards). In your notes you can do this by Formula 8.

by the way, just an update here...

I simply applied the formula from the formula card when doing first shift theorem...

First Shift Theorem is basically to replace a term (e.g. "x - 3") with just the alphabet (ie. "x"), right?
