“1. I agree
2. Not clear. U in the uniform grp? For uniform its 50… Yes thts a
lil too early… 55 for uniform offcrs is gd… For pte sector.. The
current retiremnt age is gd.
3. More CPF is gd. It has help us pay our
housing loans… N if we’ll be getting bck full CPF when we retire… It doeant matter how much
CPF deduction bcos we’ll be getting them anw…
Treat it like savings… So u dont hv to worry abt retiremnt
savings.
4. Why wld the govt give u cash bonus? They r already helping to
maintain ur CPF acct… Its really like a bank.
Do u think we hv money in our bank? No. When we keep our money in
the bank… The bank will use our money for loans or investmnts to
others. Else whr do u think they get the money? Its like a
community. 10 ppl saves 100$ each amounts to 1000$. Thn 1 guy came
borrow 500$ n bank loan it w interests… These interest thn will be
distributed to these 10 who saves their money w the bank cos the
money really actually belongs to these 10 ppl.”

I say 55 because that is the time for those who wish to retire
early, they can choose what they want to do with their CPF while they are still quite mentally and physically
strong. Whether they want to do business in Singapore to promote
entreprenueurship or buy a property overseas and retire there
etc…

Yes, it has help us pay housing loan I agree but if the
CPF contribution is let say 12% for employee
and 15% for employer, it would not be a heavy burden on the
employers plus Singapore could attract more foreign investments
thus create more job opportunities for Singaporeans. However, this
would only be good too if the government bring down the sales
prices of HDB flats. And finally the most
important factor is with less CPF
contribution from the employees, they can bring back more money
home.

I see CPF like an investment. I put money
in it and I want a cash dividend or bonus just like the ‘New
Shares’ in early 2000, do you remember that? Its like we are the
shareholders of the company and put money in it. Its different from
the bank system at least when I put and save money in the bank, I
can withdraw it anytime and I don’t have to wait until I’m 65 years
to withdraw my money with bank interest.
