im planning to go jc , but i do not know which jc to attend?

should i go to meridian jc , catholic jc or serangoon jc?

serangoon jc is the nearest to my hse but also has the lowest cut off point

if u want go SRJC might as well go NYJC

i know uniform 很难看 but imo it's better than SR lah

Hi! um so these are my results.. very unexpected of course..

Raw L1R5: 9

Net L1R5: 7

for MI, ITE, poly, I got 7 points for all of them on my result slip. A2 for CCA so 2 bonus points but I'm not sure whether its included already? Also I heard that for poly only can minus 1 point.

English, Core Literature, Emath: A1

Biology, Chemistry, Combined Humanities, Chinese: A2

yeahh... I stay near Woodlands but I'm not sure which schools to go to though I'm leaning slightly towards poly? Idk why everyone wants to go JC though... it seems very stressful and hard :/ And all the schools in Woodlands like Innova JC and Republic Poly have like really high cut off points.

Hi, I just received my O level results and I extremely need some advice ;( I really want to get into a JC (Science stream) but my L1R5 is 17 (Net L1R5 - 15) . I feel like my results are fairly okay but my Combined Humanities (SS/Lit) is a C6. I live in the East so I hope to get into TPJC even though I think the chances are very low even after deducting CCA 2 points. How are my chances to get into any JC Science stream, and if I were to appeal into TPJC, would my chances be better since the science stream isn't heavily dependent on Humanities?

My results are:

Maths - A1

AMaths - A1

Physics - B3

Chemistry - B3

POA - B4

MT - C6

TP sci is quite strong and getting stronger

I live in Bedok :) I'm kinda apprehensive towards going to IP scools like TJ. I'm leaning towards MJC, but my friends have been saying that I should try a better school for my first choice. Would really help! :)

the IP intake makes up like 1/3 of the population only

so still largely from O levels who went through the same thing as u

pure intake (from p6) haben reach ur this batch yet so no worries abt losing out or they have a good headstart

I live at Redhill so the nearest JC to me is ACJC but with my grades its difficult to get in since ACJC COP is 6. My question is do you think i should put ACJC as first choice and hope that I maybe I might get in since I take MEP or should I put AJC or CJC for a safer bet.

I also can't decide between SAJC, AJC and CJC. CJC is nearest to my house but I heard from friends and seniors that its not a very good (academic wise) school compared to AJC which is further from my house.

Then I'm also thinking of doing business at SP too? Because I'm not sure if it is wise to get into a average JC where I cannot excel and then flung my A levels and end up with nothing. :(

If I can get into ACJC all my problems would be solved. Do you think my chances of appeal is high? Considering I can appeal with Band or MEP? But I dont know if they will accept me since I only got a B3 for MEP. HELP!

SAJC is probably more feasible if distance really matter a lot

whether u flung ur As or not also largely depends on how hard u work

I also lived in Bedok, graduated from VJC. Our school have the IP program also, but the focus of VJ IP is more on exposure / breadth (such as overseas exchanges as well as group projects coupled with industry exposure). Hence, IP students do not have any significant advantage over O level students in term of academic competency as our tutors do not teach the IP students excessive A level content matter.

For TJ, the IP focus is slightly different, but I have classmates who have less than stellar O level results getting into TJ and obtained good A level results. What's good meant is normative and these are just some anedoctal evidences also.

In general, both TJ and MJ are quite similar in school culture but MJ is slightly more inclined to academics. But since you stay in Bedok, TJ will be a good choice based on distance

Ictook o levels in 2014 and i got L1R5 of 12 after cca deduction. I live at the west and want to go JC, i hope i can go catholic or st andrew in the sci stream, is it wise to put those as my first 2 options? Also, is pjc or jjc better? In terms of culture etc etc anyone with experience pls help!! My results are really bad, from a triple science class, i didnt even get an A for any science ( much worse than my class)

Hi guys. I received my o level results yesterday and I got L1R4=17. I have been interested in becoming a neurosurgeon for a very long time but I am unsure of the steps I need to take in order to do so. Could someone please guide me? I will have no financial difficulties and I don't even mind traveling. Thank you.

Hi guys, my l1r4 is 15 while my l1r2b2 is 19 for all. I know its mediocre but i am interested to sign up for MI as i know the normal JCs are totally not an option for me. I scored a B3 for english but i know it can be better as i have gotten distinctions for the past few exams, while my combined science is not that strong. I still do well for the other subjects though. Do you think i should go ahead with MI or just join a poly? Because i was aiming for aerospace engineering and i did not meet the cut off point. No other courses are of interest to me as well. Also, i heard that you need to take chinese in MI? Is that true? because my chinese is of the standard of a primary school student
My ultimate goal is also to enter university... Heard that the chances of getting in there from MI is not that high but also higher than poly.. I dont really like studying too
