I agreed with FireIce. It is not a good choice to compare using
prelim and O level results.
I have classmates scoring A1 for E-Maths but ended up C5 for O
level. However, there are also some instances where my classmates
got C6 for Combined Humanities for prelim but got B3 during O
level.
Comparing O level and prelim results is not a wise choice at
all.Firstly, prelim results only takes in your secondary school
while O level comprises of the whole Singapore. Next, the grades
for every subject during O level each year is not standardlized.
For example, in every school, A1 for English is 75 and it won't
changed. However, for O level , A1 may not always be 75. It can be
<75 if the paper is set more diffcult and 75> if it is
easier.
Mentioning about scoring
badly, I'm unable to comment on these as you knew the best when you
take the exam. Ask yourself if you have lots of "???" or "
Huh?" etc. From these, you knew that chances of making mistakes is
higher.
All I can only say is, we
can't cry over a split milk. I retook English as
well.
