I see and understand how you feel.
Yeah, this year, surprisingly, argumentative didnt come out. If
you had closely analysis the past 10 years it come out, there is
also a year where argumentative didnt came out as well. For the
last 10 years, discursive essays always come out 1 or 2 or even
3!
For Paper 2, I must say that I cannot blame the teachers for not
teaching us. In the end, we know roughly what type of questions it
will come out. For instance, like Passage A 1st questions, it ask
us to identify 3 examples to show that the visiability of the
mountain is not clear( They taught us before ). There is only 1
question from Passage A which can be directly lift( Not the entire
sentence) from the passage(points) to the answers. The other one
required us to answer in our own words.
The visual text is terribly demanding compared to last year and
I myself, find it hard to answer. If you could still remember the
3rd questions, we have to answer 3 parts based on the icon to in
order to get 1 mark!
Passage B is still managable. The first 3 out of 4 questions are
contextual clues question and you can copy directly to your
question booklet as the question did not ask us to answer in our
own words. Therefore, we do not require to create extra troubles to
substitute the words from the passage. Also, the summary is neither
easy or diffcult. As long as you manage to write at least a draft
with words being replaced or substitiuted, Im sure you can get at
least 4/7 marks for language for attempting to change words with
the same meaning to a certain degree.
Do not worry and brag on that. It is time to focus on LC.
