so what are the criticism from this 20 yr old girls that are being discussed here?

you think she is popular, because she has been to korea, taiwan or australia? the other news I read about this girl is how she quarrelled with her aunt, that adds to her popularity.

some find interest in her accent, others thinks she got guts to speak, many saw exactly what she wanted to show, her cleavage!

so what is it that Singaporean must change? don't start bashing anybody who disagree with her or you. What if an australian has the same opinion as the philippino?

Pride is different from arrogance, humility is different from inferiority complex, preference is different from prejudice.

I have pride in myself because I have dignity, I have pride in my country because this is what I cherish. Nothing to do whether I am no 1 or no 2. This is not a zero sum game.

I strive to speak good english with proper sentence structure, good grammar and appropriate vocab. (that means I am still improving).

There are good things about Singapore, and there are bad, Singapore is not perfect. Good things are bad to some and bad are good to others, nobody is perfect. (You don't understand english?)

When I watch that on youtube, I realized the little girl was ranting, listened for a while, hmmm....some Singaporean boys must have dumped her, or she didn't get the kind of attention she thought she deserved here.....I switched off. and you take her rant as lessons for Singaporean? lol....

You also need to explain "Why". I'll be more detailed. "Why do you think the points made by Steph are invalid...cite examples. Then explain why you are proud."

I'll give you an example of why you can be proud of Singapore. Singapore is a relatively safe country to live in.

I think the point (and i could be wrong) that jojo is trying to bring across is to be subjective.

It isn't a case of "staying in Singapore should be proud of Singapore."

Singapore has points it should be proud of. However it does have points it is lacking. This is of course all a matter of opinion. However it becomes apparent that some will defend the country just for the sake of it.

Don't waste my time, genie, anybody has the right to view their opinions, and others have the right to disagree, what the little girl feels is up to her and I didn't even try to dispute that, I just said "I am proud of my Singlish, ...Singapore is not perfect...what is good for some may be bad for others...".Do I have the right to say that?

What I like is what I like, call it subjective if you like. If I say this orange is sweet, don't ask me to explain why. You don't like it just leave it, stay where you are.
