How to write the link in secondary school social studies

Recently, i changed my SS teacher and my previous one gives us the point elaboration n link to memorise, but now with my new teacher, she wants us to write our own link but im not very sure how. like what is the connection between the link and the elaboration. like how do we write the link in reference to the elaboration? thanks so much if im unclear pls type out which part you cant understand thanks

Elaboration is the giving the details or examples about the point you have given, can be found in the textbook. Linking statements is to use these details or sub-points to explain and describe the process that lead to the outcome in the question, in short, to answer the question.

e.g. Competition from new trade rivals was the most serious reason for the fall of Venetian trade.

Point 1 - Over indulgence in affluent lifestyles
Elaboration - Nobles are addicted to gambling and lost their fortunes, indulged in parties and celebrations that lasted 6 months. etc
Link - (Explain how these activities lead to the fall of Venetian trade) As the nobles indulged in an extreme affluent lifestyle, they spend less effort in their own work and in coming up with new strategies or ideas to improve their trading industry in order to stay ahead. Therefore, Venice began to lose a competitive edge over their rivals and this led to the fall of Venetian trade.

Writing an essay shldn't be about memorising....it shld come naturally, like writing story, like putting your soul into convincing people.

But for that to happen, your command of english, and your background knowledge and ability to utilise them must be good.
