So what about admission to a Polytechnic where they require a
certain score to enter? Do I have to
1.go to them personally/write a letter
2.sort of "combine" the results
or will I not be able to enter a Poly if I do this?
It depends on what course you want to attend and which
polytechnic. Since polytechnic are "independent" and follow basic
MOE guidelines, it will be difficult to assess what criteria is
necessary for you to be admitted.
Usually reference material such as this year's admission is a
good reference. They will indicate the required minimum aggregate
and subjects for entry.

admission department for more details.
