TS, for your information, returning students who wish to
join the government
schools, they need to take the AEIS test for English and
Mathematics
conducted by the Minsitry of Education. The results will
decide whether your child
will be posted to Sec 3, Sec 2
or even Sec 1 ie you cannot choose
which level
of study for your child, it is the AEIS test results that
your child obtained that will
decide whether you child will be posted to SEC 3, 2 or 1 by the
MOE. No returning
students are allowed to join the Sec 4 or P6 classes.
The Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS) is a
centralised
admissions exercise conducted by MOE around September-October
each year for
new international students who wish to join mainstream
public primary and
secondary schools in January of the following year.
The AEIS consists of a centralised test on English and
Mathematics that assesses
the applicants’ English literacy, numeracy and reasoning
abilities. Applicants who
pass the test will be offered a place in a suitable school,
based on availability of
school vacancies and their test performance.
