Hi everyone! This is my first time posting here and I would like
to seek your advices.
I am planning to take O levels as a private candidate next year
and here are the subjects that I am interested in:
English
Higher Chinese
Physics
Biology
Chemistry
A Maths
E maths
Humanities elective with Social Studies
Humanites
So far, I have been doing some study on my own and
practising assessment books, and find most of the topics
pretty manageable but I encounter some difficulties that I
would need some advice.
1. I find A maths pretty complex; the initial topics are fine
but latter ones-trigo, calculus and ,to some extent, algebra
is pretty perplexing. Its really difficult getting all the
formulaes into my head and how do you actually do well for
these topics and does anyone know of any good books for A
maths?
2. I am still undecided what humanites I would be taking. I am
interested in Literature but as a private candidate, I fear that I
don't have the environment and resources to do well in it. So, do
you think I should take up Literature?
These are the 2 topics that have been bugging me and any advices
would be welcome.
Your time for reading this message is much appreciated.
Thanks!
A Maths is all about practice.
With practice, you may find it even easier than E Maths.
I will suggest you take something such as geog rather than
Lit.
To score for Lit, you will need a good tutor. It is not
impossible to self study for Lit, but it is near impossible to
score well by self studying without external help.
