With 70-80% of the students
scoring A and A* for Mother Tongue compared to English Maths
Science 42-43%, why is it necessary to cut the weightage for mother
tongue?
Its because the ruling
class's i.e. the top civil servants, the wealthy's interests are
threatened. The ruling class cannot get their kids to top
school. Some of these rich parents threaten Singaporeans
that they will move their kids overseas if Singaporeans dont agree
to their demands. Thats the kind of govt you get when the MPs dont
stay in HDB flats.

If you look at the past PSLE results, higher percentages of
students achieved A and A* and Passes in MT compared to English,
Maths or Science. Why then is MT viewed as hindering kids who
excelled in all other subjects to lose out on a place in top
secondary schools?
