The Kinetic Particle Theory says that all
matter consists of many, very small particles which are in constant
random motion.
What are these tiny particles? Are they
elements, compounds, atoms or, molecules or others?
The particles can be molecules (eg. N2) or atoms (eg. Ar) or ions
(eg. Na+(aq) and Cl-(aq) in a salt solution).
Hence, the general term "particle" is used, instead of the more
specific "atoms" or "molecules" or "ions".
