last SG · 2002-02-11T02:46:00+00:00

These lecturers from Telecommunication, I think that look great too... Oen Tien K and Dr Hamilton, Shaun Ashley... well check them out on the tp website... g...

Christof SG

Don't be so quiet...think it's being WEEKS since TP got a msg...
So in your own respective, highly valued, "blah blah etc" views, who do you think is the coolest teacher around and why?

I'll start.
My vote goes to Barnabas Woon of Computer Engineering. Why? He's got a wacky sense of humor, dresses very de COOL...long sleeves and trousers all the time.
He's teaching Oracle Database btw...
So...what's yours? Razz

Christof SG

btw how to make all the smily faces??
Smile Razz =P Sad Cool

KTE SG

HA HA HA, I can’t remember any of my lecturers’ names. Totally forgotten.

liyan SG

i know i so damn ignorant, but how to you all address your lecturers?

sir?

Mr Woon?

Desert Fox SG

I think Lee Han Yong is quite stylo... Engineering students should know him .. since he is teaching Maths

------------------
Where is Montgomery? I thought I am supposed to meet him for lunch????.....

Christof SG

err...i prefer barny myself..=P hahaa
no lah, just call me Mr. Woon will do..

liyan SG

no... really,
you all call the lecturers as Mr Woon, not sir ar?

KTE SG

Call by name macham like what, primary school secondary school ah? Say sir got standard mah.

liyan SG

icic, so it is different from us lor, we dun call our lecturers “sir”

KTE SG

Then what do you call them?

liyan SG

by name

KTE SG

Hee hee, primary school kid! :p

liyan SG

u in pri school call ur teachers by their name?

like ernest? like bina?

(sorry for using ur names as examples...dun kill mi in school!)

anyway, i think all design students would agree that ernest is a great lecturer, with sense of humour and the best thing abt ernest is that whenever we are presenting work, no matter how irrelevant to what he is expecting from us, he will still find someway to compliment on our work, so sweet, can't stand it!!

this only shows how off-track in his work i am always, rite? but ernest, i really did put in effort okay?!?!?

KTE SG

Orr, I thought what you meant was addressing the lecturers as Mr or Ms so and so. Nah, we don’t call the lecturers by name, they don’t like to get too pally around the students, most of them that is.

liyan SG

our lecturers all very fun...ernest is one good example, always a lot of new ideas. and even the way he delievers lectures is different...

i mean, who will ask us to predict future movie trends (we just did, without knowing what he is up to), then later relating everything back to design again?

anyway, i think the latest craze around design must be the Ernest Paul Cup, a course against course soccer tournament...dun take it like a "gi-na's" kind of thing, all of us are very enthusiatic abt it!

Christof SG

interesting...very interesting...
haha y don't we show the pics from tp website?

KTE SG

He he, it would be fun to have more Ernests around. Unfortunately, nah.

bigdeal SG

call oei la.. or call “cher” “cher”

novellem SG

Yap… “SIR” seems primary sch kids… but i still call my fyp supervisor “SIR” cos he is already known as Dr. xxx, but for me i think it’s quite funny to call him Dr. xxx… and I could not address him as “Mr.” so I rather address him as SIR. Nevermind lah relax relax… but if I call him cher cher I sure die flat hahahaha

novellem SG

Hmmm never seen this guy before - Mr Lee jek Chong, Gary. Seems to be a new lecturer... I think he is one of the engineering lecturer that don't look like uncles... opps no offence! Smile
