i'm surprised nobody mentioned better traction? bigger rims =
wider tires = more traction. more traction translates to better
acceleration (under launch) and better braking (shorter stopping
distance) and better lateral grip.
there's always a plus side to a down side. u can choose a set of
light weight forged rims to offset the effects of higher fc and
transmission wear but at a higher cost of purchasing the rims. and
unless u live in a 3rd world country or constantly drive with ur
eyes closed, potholes aren't exactly a threat in singapore. and
believe me, if u have a serious tire blow out while driving, its
more than just ur rims that gets the damage.
if u ask me, there's more performance benefits to fitting a good
set of after market upsized rims. if u want comfort, den
performance benefits are the last thing u should be
considering.
