hi, can anyone tell me how to integrate 1/(1+sin square x)
?Thanks
Good question there
Step 1: Multiply sec2 x to top and bottom
integrate sec2 x /(sec2 x + tan2 x
)
Step 2: Change the sec2 x in the denominator to 1 +
tan2 x
integrate sec2 x /(1 + 2tan2 x )
Step 3: Note that sec2 x is a differential of tan
x
and integrate sec2 x /(1 + (sqrt(2) tan x)2
)
Step 4: Integrate using your MF15 formula sheet
Ans: tan-1(sqrt(2) tan x) / sqrt(2)
