The purpose of an indicator is to indicate to you the volumes
(assuming fixed molarities) of reactants used (titrant and titrand)
to reach equivalence point, which is approximated by endpoint (ie.
when a suitable indicator changes color).
If after knowing the required volumes (hence moles of titrant
and titrand may be calculated), you wish to obtain a pure sample of
the salt at equivalence point, you must redo the titration without
indicator.
There is no shortcut, using animal charcoal or any other type of
charcoal, or any simple method (ie. it’s much less trouble to
simply redo the titration), to separate the indicator from the salt
solution at equivalence point.
