Was going through some notes provided by my teacher some time
back and saw this :
Why compounds/elements with metallic bonding have high
mp/bp?
The summary is
-Strong metallic bonds
-Large amount of energy
Can't remember the exact explanation but I presume they mean
strong metallic bonds between the postive ions and negative
electrons? So large amount of energy is required to overcome
these strong metallic bonds leading to the high mp/bp.
Lots of thanks !
