I suggest you reading up more about the engineering course.
Even if you can't get any course at the DAE, you still can try
calling the school to see whether if they have remaining vacancy
for that course. I've heard about such cases where the school will
offer the course to student even they didn't meet the MER.
Perhaps you could re consider your choices again.
Here are some course which might have higher chances for you go
get into.
1) Sports sciences course(R27, R26 )
2) Engineering course (R21, R11,
3) IT Course (R12,
If you rearrange the above order, most likely you will get into
Engineering course, IT course, and Sport Sciences Course.
But don't worry dear, retaking O level isn't a bad thingy. I've
seen many people who retook their O level and get into a poly after
that. You'll still be able to defer your NS until you got your
dip.
