Hi Trapped Fly,
Indeed, NUS/NTU/SMU has made it compulsory for school "A" Level
applicants in 2008 onwards to include Project Work in the
computation of the university admission score ie 3H2 subjects, 1
contrasting H1 subject, General Paper and Project Work. Mother
Tongue is not compulsory in the computation of the university
admission score.
However, NUS/NTU/SMU has made allowance for private candidates
ie the university admission score for private candidates need
not include PW ie 3 "A" level subjects and General Paper
only. 2008 was the last year where private candiates can take
"A" level subjects and "AO" level subjects.
So, private candiates who take the new syllabus (ie
the H2 subjects and H1 subjects instead of the "A" level subjects
and "AO" subjects), these private candidates MIGHT be subjected to
the same requirements as the school candidates ie to include
Project Work in the computation of the university admission score
ie 3H2 subjects, 1 contrasting H1 subject, General Paper and
Project Work.
There are no confirmed replies from NUS/NTU/SMU that allowances
will be continued to be given for private candidates who take the
new syllabus or a zero point will be assigned for Project Work in
the computation of the University admission score for these private
candidates. It seemed that NUS/NTU/SMU has not decided on this
yet.
Thank you for your kind attention.
