Not neccesary, those military ruler really know nuts abt managing
Thai econ during this tough crisis. All their plan fails and people
are losing job, econ cannot be revive. That is why poeple are
unhappy and go to street to protest.
If Thaksin is back in power and he manage to subdue the slump,
will the call to bring him down be strong?
No matter who's in power in thailand, no one will be able to
'subdue the slump' or significantly improve the economy. This
recession is due to fundamental flaws in the US economy, namely
greed, too low interest rates since 2001, easy borrowing, utter
lack of regulation in the mortgage sector (after the FM scandal),
risky CDOs that were still rated triple A and the list goes on.
Thaksin, whom I personally think can do a better job than many
other thai leaders, still won't be able to do much in such an
economic climate.
