Eg: "Soft engineering methods of coastal protection may be more
effective than hard engineering methods of protection." Do you
agree? EYA. (My school prelim question)
Para 1: Describe at least 2 methods of soft engineering, with
specific examples for both. State benefits of these soft
engineering methods. (I actually named them all: beach nourishment,
relocation of property, planting of mangroves and stabilising
dunes)
Para 2: Give problems associated with these soft engineering
methods, with specific examples.
Para 3: Describe at least 2 methods of hard engineering, with
specific examples. State benefits of these hard engineering
methods. (Again, I named all: groynes, gabions, breakwaters,
seawalls)
Para 4: Negative impact of these hard engineering methods.
No need for conclusion. My teacher says you do not need to
assess which is more effective, as long as you give both pros and
cons for both, and specific examples in each paragraph. Then 8
marks :-)

btw your method of assessing is more correct. What i did was
assesing by measure and not type of measure(soft or hard).
