davidche SG Hello, can someone, anyone, teach me: what does resistor do. (eg: limit the number of electrons???etc..) What is voltage The reistor doesnt affect the current? Why?
Darkness_hacker99 SG what does resistor do Function Resistors restrict the flow of electric current, for example a resistor is placed in series with a light-emitting diode (LED) to limit the current passing through the LED. What is voltage It is the difference of electrical potential between two points of and electrical or electronic circuit, expressed in volts. The reistor doesnt affect the current? Why? Yes it does affect. It restrict the flow of charges, that's why it makes the current smaller. http://ikalogic.com/beg_1_res_v_c.php http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resistor
ispyyy SG Resistor is also used to do heating up... When electrons move thru resistor, there will be many collision and thus heating effect is formed...
unclebutcher SG resistor controls current. V=IR Voltage is potential difference/electromotive force. think of it at as a driving force. V=IR V is inversely proportional to I. however resistance affects current.
davidche SG Oh ok, thanks for the answers, there may be more qns coming up. Currently studying sec 3 btw.
eagle SG no worries keep it coming... It helps us remember our stuff too I refrained from answering because I knew many here can answer Me too lazy to type out
davidche SG You shouldnt be very old yea? I only hope that i not only acquire help, i can also have the opportunity to provide it.
