what are the most important topics to study for examinations

chemistry

chemical bonding is extremely important. It is the foundation on which your a level chemistry "house" stands or falls

For me, physics was always divided into 5 sub-topics, and I studied each sub-topic properly

1. Mechanics
---- Mostly just study and understand the forces. Important to know differentiation, integration and trigo well, especially from A level and upwards

2. Waves and Oscillations
---- This is my weakest. Just memorize. For uni level pple, u may need to be well versed in differential equations too

3. Electricity and Magnetism
---- This is mostly equations

4. Thermodynamics
---- Another of my weak part. All on temperature, entrophy, etc etc.

5. Modern Physics
---- As said, very modern. Most are still new stuff, and memorising is all about it for scoring in this area

For chinese:

learn your words well. reading chinese books or magazine or newspaper will help u. speaking in chinese more often will improve your chinese.

if u are serious abt improving your command of chinese, make your own books of vocabulary. For example, when u come across words that you do not know, write it down in a book. After that, check the dictionary. It will be helpful if u try to use those words that u hav written down in you compo assignments.

For chinese literature, though i agree that u need somehow a little flair for it, however, memorising isnt just the option. Improving your command of chinese is also a good option. Read widely, or even famous' author's biography, so that u have a knowledge of the author's background and thus gaining a better understanding of how and why he or she write or create such an article~

Actually for A level chemistry I think there's a bit more to chem bonding.

Organic Chemistry: Know thy functional groups and mechanisms well and you can hardly go wrong with org chem. For stereochemistry can always use 4 pens to spot optical isomers.

Physical Chemistry: Being able to think in terms of physical equations helps. Knowing how to draw energy cycles will be extremely beneficial.

Inorganic Chemistry: The worst of the 3 but luckily has the lowest weightage (Org:Inorg Razz hy = 5:2:5). Know the general trends but there are always exceptions which can only be resolved by pure memorising. Chem bonding will be nice here esp for trends of boiling points, melting points, solubility, acidity etc.

well my tuition teacher and school teacher do say that most if not all questions will link back to chem bonding, as current H2 syllabus makes a conscious effort to have inter topic questions.
